I saw a show once that had chicken hypnotizing on it briefly. They explained that you can do this with any pea brained critter, that the blood rushes to their bitty head and causes them to pass out. Not sure if you leave them that way long enough if they have brain damage, and if you would even notice if they did? My rabbits do the same thing. And I am pretty sure some reptiles do this too.

Our 6 year old son (Josiah) is our chicken whisperer. He can pet them into hypnosis! (Literally on their back asleep or awake in a trance and some times just sitting on him with their heads tucked into their backs.) Every morning before anyone is up he is out back taming and hypnotizing his select chickens. He is very calming to any animal I've seen him with. And to any human as well!

We do it for guests to the barn on rare occassions. Some people think it is cruel but it isn't. They go hypnotic fairly easy.
