How can I get my chickens to like me more

i pet mine at night too - and call them by name - and they do know their names - at least some of them do - it's fun to see how many words they learn to understand

First of all I want to thank everyone for all the replies. I have been working on practicing them all. And tonight I had a big breakthrough, I went out to the coop with some fish to feed them, but they were already roosting. So I put the plate down and spoke quietly to them and they let me pet them. All of them, without jumping off their roost and running away! Yaay! I think they are starting to like me.....
