I don't like to put any of my eggs into a incuppater because I'm afraid I will for get something and none of my hens never go broodey
Thx I will have to get me some silkiesI guess you are in a pickle. Many breeds don't go broody but spring time is generally when any will go broody. Silkies are know to be quite broody and my Buff Orpingtons tended to be more broody. I just recently took some eggs out from under a broody and put the eggs in my incubator. Every time she would get off her nest to eat, drink and poop another bird would lay in her nest box. I put 8 eggs under her and when I took the eggs after nearly 3 weeks of her sitting on them ther were 18 eggs under her. Now I really have a staggered hatch and a chick a day is hatching out. So far 12 have hatched.
