    Hi!
I am hoping that the answers are positive......But how can I tell if my 11 month old Silkie hen is broody? She has been on the nest for a little over 2 hours now, and whenever I go to touch her or something, she puffs up bigger than usual and makes a hissing noise along with low screeching noises.
If you have any, could you post your broody hen pics so I can compare them to my girl?
    Thank you!!!

If your hen spends the night in the nesting box and makes the sounds you say---she is broody.

My Silky goes broody a lot and recently I think I helped by placing golf balls in her nesting box. I waited a couple of days before I was confident she wasn't just toying with the idea. Basically, your hen will barely leave the box. I wouldn't think 2 hours is quite enough time to know for sure, but I'd say if it continued a few days you are definitely good!
