How can I trap a coyote?

Hi and thanks! I've had live-traps baited for a while and they are smarter-than-that.
I sat outside all night (hidden) with the shotgun ready blast them --- and all I get is 'no sleep', and no predators.
I think I have a wiley coyote family and I want to make them go away.

A live trap has not ever given me luck with coyotes. You can try a rabbit distress call, but it probaly wont get him into shotgun range. i usually prefer a varmint rifle or my kalishnikov for this problem.

Hi! Yes, digging under fences and taking fowl not shut up in houses at night.

I would opt for a hot wire running around the outside of the run or lay fencing flat around the perimeter where they dig.
