Looked at both articles posted, thank you for the links. I notice that McCain is being condemned in both for his biased statements, which means, to me, that a lot of folks realize that his statements are based on his impressions, not actual first hand knowledge. I respectfully suggest that he is perhaps carrying some bias from his youthful experiences? I don't discuss politics or religion with strangers online, so that's the end of that.
Juan, I am sorry that this thread has come to this, and I apologize. Not only do I have a lot of Latino/Hispano friends, my first husband was Ecuatoriano and I graduated from high school in Ecuador. When I lived in France, most of my friends were Chilenos, Argentinos, Venezolanos, Colombianos, Ecuatorianos. No wonder I didn't learn much French! After that, I lived in Texas for over 20 years and worked with people from all over the world. I was delighted to find anyone who spoke Spanish, so I wouldn't lose the vocabulary! I was even more delighted when I moved to SC and found a lot of people from Mexico and Central America here. I have managed to hang on to the language somewhat and the culture even more, when I thought I was going to lose it all.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the OP told us of someone who is obviously narrow minded, we have all posted opinions and everyone is entitled to do that. But please kepp in mind that we are a very large and diverse community, please verify info before posting it. Post a link, so that the information is available to all, not just filtered by personal opinion.
Thank you. Y gracias.
