I have brahma hens and i recently hatched their chicks. To my surprise I got one of the chick which has no feathers on its legs and the rest are normal chicks of brahma. Has it happened to anyone of you?
How can this happen genetically?

The feather footed gene could've just been absent from this one particular chick, meaning didn't inherit.
I do see a head spot on that chick which means a sneaky barred rooster could've got the Brahma hen. But most mixes like that do have foot feathers, but not all.

No rooster can get her. They are in enclosed area due to predators.

Where are the parents from? It is possible that each one had a clean leg gene and those two came together making the chick.
Parents are from a breeder who had mostly brahmas... The only breed with no feet feathers was light sussex..

Plus see the comb, it's also unusual type
