how can you remove lice eggs?

I've had young cockerels that will attack anything, so I DO grab them and hang them by the feet momentarily, just to stop the flapping. Watch the bird. If it's very stressed, don't do whatever it is you're doing; if not, then keep on. When I check for pests, I sometimes have to turn them in ways you would ordinarily not--just watch them for stress. breathing, coloration. I had one hen that had vent gleet and she got stressed by me just looking at her. Even putting her in a basin of water would make her almost pass out, so her treatment tended to be fast and incomplete. Even after daily treatments for weeks, she still didn't cope well so I culled her. Just a nervous Nellie, that one. Others are nervous at first and then adapt, becoming lap sitters. If you are medicating for the lice and then repeating the treatment, I don't know that removing every nit you see is that important--the next treatment will kill them anyway.

Coconut oil on feather bases where the clusters are will also kill the nits as well as any live lice. I've used it on chickens when they get lice from the wild birds in the yard and two days later, nothing crawling on them. 10 days later, also nothing. You have to be fairly thorough or use a baster to sort of pour it around on the affected area close to the skin and feather bases, but it works on all animal and human lice.
