I agree. It looks like a boy.

I have Silkies that are four months all and I can tell who is who. My boys all have these longer feathers on the back of their heads ... and are bigger then the girls.

this is a definite boy

this is a girl, except you can't see the back of her head on this pic, so you have to trust me on that ;-)

Yeah, someone else said that to me once also....still no proof and I had my rooster jump it the other day.....

oh...so looking at the head feathering helps tell also? Interesting....I would think I should know something soon....I have 3 roos, one is going to be re-homed this week, I am keeping 2...I don't really want 3...and I am not sure I want a silkie roo

IMO The streamers off the back of the "poof" are the best way to be sure of a roo before crow/egg. I cant tell in the photo if those are fully formed feathers but if they are then that is a boy and if they are not then you just cant tell yet, they may "open" up and the streamers will disappear. I have roos with tiny combs and hens with huge combs so I cant tell by the comb. My roos are usually bigger than my hens but not always, the feet can be thick even on my girls... So yeah, I used the streamers, crow and lay an egg to tell.

My dominate roos mount the subordinate roos, it is a pecking order thing. I do hope that turns out to be a pullet but as I said, it looks like a cock to me.
