How can you tell the difference?

Does anyone know how to tell a Cu-coo Maran apart form a Barred rock chicken? I'm a bit confused because I have one barred and maybe a Maran, and I want to breed the barred, but I dont know which is which... I'm a bit stuck.

That's easy. The legs. Marans are white. BRs yellow.

I think they might also have different eye color.

The barring is also slightly different, but that requires a trained eye.

I believe the picture below is a Barred rock, she is so sweet, she'll just sit in my lap, I named her Bonnie and her Rooster will be Clyde

One does seem to have brighter eyes than the other. You can tell them apart because of their different colored beaks.

I don't raise cuckoo, I raise Black Copper. But figure learning body shape and other things is good practice.

Guess I can't tell anything up close.

Your last pic looks like awfully wide white bars and I see some green sheen up near the chest. Are you sure she's a girl? I can't see the rest of the body.

I would venture at guess at saying the Rock will be more personable than the Marans.
