How Cold Can 7 Week Old Chicks Withstand

do they have most of their feathers? is the coop fairly draft proof? how far below 50 are you talking? if they are fully feathered and the coop is fairly draft free, they'll be just fine.

When we got our girls in 2012 in October that year it was cool outside and we gave them a light to keep warm. We kept the light on them until the girls decided they didn't want the light any longer. If the chicks get hot they will move away from the light. Ours did. I would try a light so they stay warm and see what they do.

Right now we have about eight three week old chicks with a light on them but they are in the house.

I have 3 7-9 week old chicks and i’m wondering if they can withstand lower 50’s tonight.. an answer would be great, thanks!!
They should be fine but if you are concerned you could add a heat lamp if you have that available. I used to put a crate with extra hay/bedding in it in case they wanted to snuggle in.
