How cold hardy are Muscovy?

We got our Muscovy in March this year when we still had snow and cold weather.

Now I am wondering if our shelter situation is sufficient for a whole Canadian winter.

We have a 3 sided tin, horse sized shelter in a paddock that we have modified for them, we plan on insulating the bottom with flax bales and using wheat straw on the dirt bottom. we have added plywood on either side of the opening for wind break. I am also going to put small plastic totes with straw and a small opening inside for extra warmth ( think dog house) will that be enough?

Our barn is a very modern horse barn with rubber matting and my husband has made it clear ducks over winter are not allowed in the barn, I also don't want them in my insulated 8x8 chicken coop because I don't think there is enough ventilation for the mess ducks make.

we have heated water buckets for winter so that should be sufficient.
any advice?

We get down to -20 Fahrenheit plus here. Mine do fine and continue to take baths all winter. Putting down hay or straw to stand on and good roosts helps.
