How cold is too cold?? Chicks are getting HUGE!

Mine are almost eight weeks is a temperature of 61 or 68 okay for them to be outside in? Newbie here!

So when can you get rid of the heat lamp completely? Mine are only 4 days old, but I realized that I don't even know when I can get rid of the lamp!

I dont know how many of you reading this are picturing your chicks that you hatched free ranging with their mom in 30 degree weather...when it gets cold they go under mom....truly , once you see a three day old chick running around in 20 degree weather, scratching at the ground happy as a clam with his mom, you realize how important it is to allow their natural self thermo-regulation instincts...they need a HEAT SOURCE YES--- MAMA HEN OR HEAT LAMP..and when they need heat source they will utilize it....whether it is in the form of cuddling under their mom or settling down under the heat lamp. While we certainly dont want to do anything to risk the well being of our chicks, they are not as 'helpless' as we sometimes think

I'm hoping someone can help, I hatched out 6 eggs (2 Friday, 2 Sat and 2 hatched Sun) Our temps dropped drastically and we got snow on Sunday and before I got out to check on the chicks (last I had checked on Saturday they're was only 4 chicks hatched) Sunday morning 4 chicks had died. I assume from the cold? The temps were to drop again so I moved momma hen and her two chicks inside my garage into a brooder. Now I want to know at what outside temp can I let them go back out and they;;; be safe? They spend less time under momma as it's warmer in my garage, will she allow them to go back under her in colder temps?

Please help! I have more chicks on the way and I need to know what to do? Temps to stay in the 40's for while I hear with a few 50's thrown in. Below is the coop they were in. They are Bantam Cochins?
