How could I tell if an egg is still good?

Well, my girls were hiding eggs on me! I found a stash of 17 eggs- no wonder I thought the egg count each day was a little low!
They have been out in the coop, temps here have been between 40-70 degrees but the past two days it has gotten up to about 75-80. Should I just toss these eggs out? They could be a day old at the least, or they could be two weeks old at the most.

I did the cold water thing, and none float. Is that really reliable?

Thanks guys!

Marli, I don't know about the cold water thing, but when my girls do that to me I just chuck them and try to block off the spot they are hiding the eggs. Then just keep collecting the fresh ones.

I've always found it reliable, but if you're worried just crack each egg into a bowl before you use them
