it came out hooked together-then I seperated it-then cracked them open-a tiny piece of yolk was in 1 of them? anyone else seen this happen-this is from my 1 1/2 yr RIR or `1 yr old BO hen. The other day one of them layed a rubbery egg--They just started laying these funky ones-what do you think? Oh background..on layer pellets-fresh water of course-free range about 5-8 hrs a day-lots of fruits and veggies plus rice ronis and other treats every so often breads-corn chips ( their favorite)

WHOA, that is interesting. It looks like a heart shaped egg in the 1st photo!

Sometimes hens just lay very weird eggs. I have seen many different odd shapes, on here, and in backyard poultry.

Its most of the time, just a hick-up in her system.

Is the shell hard? If not, could be a calcium deficiency or maybe the protein is too low. I'd wait a while and if it doesn't improve, modify one of the above.

... yes, but can they make it look like a balloon-animal next time? I want a giraffe!

LOL you guys are dogging my thread! haha-yeah right at first I thought it was a terd! it was in the back of the nest-it was hard-they cracked open like normal eggs-it fit in the palm of my hand-same size as a normal brown egg too. I just started free ranging them alot more-thinking maybe their eating less layer pellet and more outside stuff?

That's crazy!

(I thought the same as one other previous poster - looks like testicles!
