I have always worked outside of the home until my daughter was born in July of 2005. After I had her we decided that I would stay home with them. I try to do things with them that are learning experiences for them, but also fun. Last year we started a garden, which turned out great. They both love vegetables so they thought it was really cool.
This year we ordered chicks. We are fortunate to live in the country, so I thought why not. My daughter went to the post office with me when they came. All she kept saying was eggs, I kept telling her "chickies". Once I showed her what was in the box she got the idea. Both my son (5) and daughter have had a great time with the chickens. I really enjoy having the chickens myself. That's what I do in the evenings, I take the kids out to play and I watch the chickens.
This year we would like to hatch some eggs, but I need to get an incubator first. We've never done that, so this will also be a learning experience for all of us!
I would love to get some goats also.
