How did you come up with your screen name?

It's so fun to learn about other people by reading how you got your nicknames.

I started using Princess Momma online just recently. It's a nickname given to me by my daughter. We call her Bugga or Princess Bugga, and she started calling me Princess Momma and it just sort of stuck. Of course, she has recently changed her mind and decided I am Queen Momma, but I like being a princess better than being a queen. We call our other little girl Princess Squeak, and occasionally my husband is Prince Daddy.

I use the names of 2 of our hens...Scarlett was the hen that I chose, she's a CalderRanger, and Buffy is a Mini Buff Orpington that I chose for my hubby when we got the hens in Feb this year. Funny thing is we both named each others hens

Interesting stuff. Some of you have fun stories.

I play the tin whistle, also known as the pennywhistle, Irish whistle, low whistle, or simply "whistle," semi-professionally. Mostly Scottish and Irish trad and original stuff. I also play euphonium, guitar, bodhran, and too many other things. There are some sound clips of me and my friends playing at my website, www.whistlingbadger.com--follow the music links. I don't think music will ever make me rich--there seems to be a rather limited market for Celtic classical jazz folk music. There is no accounting for taste...

I like badgers. They are among my favorite animals for several reasons. Small but tough. Undaunted by impossible odds. Amazingly hard to kill. Inclined to live and let live, but fierce if cornered. Completely unilitarian in design, except for those amazing facial stripes which seem to have no other purpose than to be beautiful. A person could find worse animals to admire, especially living in a place like Wyoming.

A few other things about me: I am a Christian, mostly because the teachings of Jesus are the truest thing I have ever found. The lovely Mrs. Badger and I just celebrated our 4th anniversary last week! We live about a mile outside of Lander, Wyoming, at the base of the Wind River Mountains, where we love to backpack, fish, and bowhunt. I am an elementary music teacher by trade. I am currently halfway through a masters degree in curriculum and instruction technology. I just finished putting in a quarter-mile long drip system to our wind break and native fruit orchard, and it works!!! And finally, I have to get off-line and go get some hay cut before it gets any hotter. Bye!

I live in San Diego and everyone I know tells me that I don't just have pets.....I have a zoo. I take in unwanted and injured animals from reptiles, the usual dogs and cats to lizards, fish and tortoises.

Been a "cop" all my adult life and now I'm the cop on patrol for my chickens. My first thought for the name came to me when I was inquiring on how to protect my chickens from snakes and the such. Once a cop, always a cop!

Mine is a combo of the names of my first 2 sons. Jet and Luke. Though everyone thinks I am a guy.

Now, you might think my name choice indicates one VERY busy lady, but thats not how I got my name.

Quite a few years back an injury had me sidelined, and out of sheer boredom I created a comic strip character- Kinda like The Chipmunks, except she was a little bird, a curious hyperactive combination of my 2 childrens personalities at pre-school age.
At some point, I decided Lil needed a friend, so the story goes that she found another baby bird to bring home.( something my DD would, and HAS done) That bird happened to be a buzzard, so he was named Bizzy, because he kept Lil very busy
