How did you manage to rehome your hen?

Hello everyone. Lately I have been trying to find someone to rehome my hen to. I was curious to ask, for those of you who have successfully rehomed chickens, how did you do it? What resources (websites, social media, veterinarians, shelters, etc.) did you use? Info from people in Texas, especially in or around Austin TX would be most helpful. Thanks.

I joined a local Facebook group that is mostly used as a chicken exchange. I post details of the bird and what I'm looking for in the new home. You do need to vet people the best you can. A lot of folks combing these sites are hoarders.

Hello thecatumbrella. Thank you for responding so soon. I tried to use facebook myself, but my account was permanently disabled hours after I made a post to a chicken group. I hate to ask so much, but would you be willing to post to facebook on my behalf? I could give you the post I made. If you dont feel comfortable doing this, I would understand. I just ask because they disabled me, and I dont think I can make another account. I really need to rehome my hen as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but you'll have to ask someone you know. I don't even have an account myself; I use my husband's. If the rehoming situation is that dire, consider contacting local animal shelters or your vet.

Good luck.
