How did your Auto pop door work over the Winter ?

that answers a lot of questions and solves my flat surface dilemma since the interior is OSB lined. I'm not too worried about it being predator proof since my run is going to be chain-link and has a concrete footing already poured. Run construction was supposed to be a winter project but I got exactly one post up before we got buried. I shoveled it out twice and gave up after the 4 foot drifts appeared.

Email Ron at Ador, he is Fast to respond and will answer any other questions.
No I don't get a discount :)
Tell him Linda sent you from this website, I told him someone else was looking to buy.

BTW, He said that they might be raising the price to meet what is on Amazon, I think it is $248. So for $216 (door and extra 12 foot sensor wire) is a good price, Oh plus $19 for shipping

1) Name of Auto door you have, company/Brand, where you bought it .
--I use the ChickenGuard Premium. Had it for about 10 months now.

2) Inside or Outside mount ? With or Without over hang if outside.
--Inside of a chicken tractor, outside of the coop portion.

3) How long you have had it and What State You are located if not on your profile.
--About 10 months in Indiana.

4) Did it work when it was suppose to (Sensor or timer)
--Been 100% reliable.

5) If it had issues, what were they.
--No issues with the door at all. I proactively replaced the batteries just before winter as batteries don't function as well in cold temperatures and I was concerned about it not closing when it came to sub-zero weather at night.

I have the Auto Coop Door Advanced from Fleming Outdoors. This is the third winter I have used it. It is mounted inside the coop. It runs on electric with a battery backup. Mine closes according to how many minutes from sunrise/sunset I program it, according to my GPS coordinates. Doesn't rely on light or a strict time. No problems whatsoever.

I have a solar powered door which I really like but just in the last month or so I am having a problem with the chickens going back in a night and getting stuck outside. Don't know what I have done to make them do this. I was using the sunrise/sunset option but went to the time and they seem to get stuck outside! Any suggestions?

Turnit off one day and find out what time they are going to bed that night, then change the timer on it.

Some nights my girls are in before it is even semi dark, then other days they are out till I can almost not see them :idunno Can't figure it out and it isn't a temp issue.

I have a ChickenGuard Premium and love it. I've had 3 auto doors over the last 8 years. Seems every 3 years they broke. The Pullet Shut broke after warranty time lapsed. And the only solution was to buy another at full price. I can't remember the name of the 2nd door but the same problem. My ChickenGuard did break. But unlike the other companies that wanted me to buy another at full price, ChickenGuard folks were great and offered me a deep discount on the replacement. Plus ChickenGuard is much cheaper than the others. My winter issues have had to do with the door not closing or opening due to some ice getting in the slides. I've had the same issue with all 3 doors. You can't count on them to close/open 100% of the time. I have cameras on my auto doors, in the coop and in the run. If the door doesn't close or a girl doesn't make it in, I know. But after owning these doors for over 8 years, knowing issues with dependability with all of them, if I did not have the cameras, I would not have the auto door. Cause I'd have to go check to be sure it closed/opened - so might as well close the door. My cameras make it possible for me to have the auto doors.

1) Name of Auto door you have, company/Brand, where you bought it .

I have the Advanced Automatic Chicken Door with Solar Kit from Fleming Outdoors.

2) Inside or Outside mount ? With or Without over hang if outside.

Inside Mount and the door opens to a covered run

3) How long you have had it and What State You are located if not on your profile.

We got it in August when we finished our coop, so I can't speak to longevity yet. We are located in Ohio and have had a colder than normal winter.

4) Did it work when it was suppose to (Sensor or timer)

It has worked without fail. I like that it can be set to open a set amount of time before/after sunrise/sunset. It automatically adjusts as the seasons change, so I don't have to reset anything.

5) If it had issues, what were they.

No issues at all.
