How did your Auto pop door work over the Winter ?

I had a hard time too deciding.
The winner was I got a LONG email from Ron at ADOR1 with in like 15 minutes of sending the email ! and he and I exchanged emails all that day and the next.
Kinda can't beat that ;)
I like the gear drive and the fact that it is inside the housing protected is great.
I bought the 12' sensor wire to hang outside (was like $17 not bad).
No, outlet plug but that is ok, the $3 battery was at walmart. And I won't have to run a cord into the coop ;)

So no more rope coming from your house window? :gig

This was my method before I invested in the Ador1. Never going back!!!

My door arrived yesterday from Fleming Outdoors. The box arrived in good shape, and on initial inspection, everything appears to be as it should. Solid construction, nice fit and finish. I think it will work really well for my needs. I hope to install it in the next couple of weeks.

While I did get my order without any issues from Fleming Outdoors, I will say that I'd probably order from Premeire 1 if I had to do it again (who has the same door for the same price).

I placed my order on March 5th. I received a confirmation mail, and a link to check the status of my order. That is all pretty standard. On Tuesday, March 13th, I got to thinking that I still hadn't received a shipping update on my item that was listed as "In Stock" when I placed my order. So, I checked the status using the link they provided, and my order still said "Pending". The information for the shipping carrier wasn't there, and it looked the same as it did since the day I placed it. So, I used the link on the status page to email them if we had any questions on the status of the order. I asked if they could provide any update on my order since when I placed my order, the item was listed as "In Stock", and on Tuesday, March 13th, it was still listed as "In Stock". I didn't get any replies to my email, and then on Wednesday, March 14th, it just showed up on my doorstep. Today, Thursday the 15th, I still have not received a reply to my email.

So, while everything did go off without any issues, I am disappointed by the lack of order processing status and lack of customer service response to my email. If there were legitimate issues with my order, I don't have the confidence that it would have been easy to resolve through their contact process. I by no means wish to talk negative about a company that did fulfill their obligations, but with the levels of service that other companies provide, and the norm today of being updated as orders progress, I found it pretty odd to be left fully in the dark (I do regularly check my spam folders). So, if you decide that this is the door for you, I'd at least consider your options on who you order through.

Ordered mine 3/13, shipped 3/14 and tracking says deliver on 3/21. I had it shipped to my work so it's easy to track and everything east of the Mississippi takes 7-10 days to get to Montana. Things haven't changed much since the Pony Express days/:lau

Consider that what you purchased is not considered a must have ITEM. The sellers will ship the cheapest way possible. The Postal service will deliver item at their leisure. If you want it quickly, then opt for HIGHER SHIPPING RATE.
I do purchase many things online. I do check the shipping info as well. Often times the item arrives and when I go to check status of shipping 2 days later, it states in transit. WE DON'T LIVE IN A PERFECT UNIVERSE YET. :idunno

@tigger19687
Was the ador hard to install? We are currently building a coop - would it be better to make a door first and retrofit the ador? Or Would it be better to buy it and install as the door?
Also, what does the 12' sensor wire do?

I know you are asking tigger19687, but you question is such a tempting low hanging fruit, I just cant hold myself back answering.:highfive:
My Ador1 is pictured in post#2. It is surface mount. No rails or anything of such to install as in other doors. Takes 9 small screws to hold in place. 10. minute job unless you have friends over and are convincing them to get chickens like you have,,,,,,:gig Job could stretch to 2 hours and case of cooling beverage consumption.
The 12 foot cord (optional)is a remote eye if your door is in really deep shade or installed inside coop where it can not see daylight.
You can purchase the door, and when it arrives, you can fine tune its location onto your coop. You may also decide you need it inside rather than outside. At that point you would need the 12 foot sensor. It also comes in a 4 foot length.
It almost sounds like I'm a Ador salesperson. :gig Trust me, I'm not, but VERY SATISFIED with my door.
