How did your flock annoy you today?

I saw someone on Instagram feeding their Seramas a cherry tomato by hand. It looked like a very special moment that I wanted to recreate. So this afternoon, I picked a fresh cherry tomato from the garden, sat down on their bench, and called them up.

It was sweet for about 5 seconds. Once the tomato busted open, the line between fruit and finger was blurred. The chickens did not care if they were eating tomato pulp or my actual thumb. I screamed. The tomato fell to the ground dramatically before being ripped to shreds.

I think I'll stick to tossing them a few blueberries.

I put the 2 Littles up into their cage (temporary coop during integration) so that they are safe from the Bigs at night. I slowly herd them into their room, but when I reach to close the swing door, one panics and runs out. So I have to close the cage door to keep the other in while slowly herding the first back out, and when I get her up the ramp and open the cage door, the second bolts out. And so then, off we go again...

So 1 of my little 6ish week old just walked up to the dog and managed to hop INTO HER OPEN PANTING MOUTH! So yes that one is definitely an idiot. The dog was just laying there in the shade relaxing in the heat and this Bozo just hops in and then starts frantically chirping when she starts playing with it. Also she never drew blood just slobbered all over this bird. She leaves the birds alone because she knows they are off limits but this one wasn't her fault and now I am really glad this 1 is a cockeral because it is just to stupid to live here.

I have a turken rooster who seems to think I'm a hen, and yes, he's very cute doing his little dance and bringing me bugs, but for the love of all- I just want to run in, grab the eggs quickly sometimes, and leave without stepping on him or having to remove beetles from my shoes!!
