Mine have been rather non problematic within the last day or so, which in return makes me incredibly nervous and suspicious of what is to come.

My fake broody spent TWO HOURS in the nest box doing nothing (she doesn't even sit on the fake egg). We're in the middle of a 3-day heat wave, and I had to call it around lunch. Everyone's in the basement brooder to cool off for the afternoon.

Of course, now she needs to lay her egg and is screaming her head off at being forced to use a different nest box. I'm politely drowning her out with Calm Radio.

They are the most spoiled brats. Of course, they don't understand, but it's an unfortunate side effect of having zero shade on my property and one of the hottest summers on record.

There was a big kerfuffle earlier because out of the 9 nest boxes they were all fighting over 3 of them. Just booting each other out so they could get in. Like Hello you have more boxes go use them. They are 3 inches away but Noooooo they don't like the other ones.

The other boxes are clearly haunted. A chicken would never act that irrationally, otherwise.
