How did your flock annoy you today?

I ALSO do not do spiders. The small ones are ok I guess but those big hairy ones are right out. When I lived in the Carolina mountains I was fortifying the existing run for my soon-to-be ducks and it took much longer than anticipated because if I saw one of those bad boys I was done for the day. And maybe the next day. Did you know the Carolina wolf spider is the largest? I didn’t but I sure as hell do now.

I just HATE them!!!!!! So nasty!

Maybe it’s something about their nasty legs….

And the worst part is, that these HUGE, UGLY cat spiders like to spin their webs across my chicken run, IN THE WALKWAY. And when I go out to lock the chickens up, my flashlight shines on there big, curly, creepy legs, an OMGoodness! It’s so gross! I finally started to shoot them out of their webs with my brother’s Red Rider. Now that, is fun!

We have an orb weaver that loves to build its web each night outside the door going out to the yard where I let my dogs out. The other night, it was like a cast night spanning the entire width of the stairs. My puppy was able to run right under it, but I was not going through that thing. I told the puppy this was all on her and watched her from the steps!

My chickens love the RentACoop treat dispenser. I'll fill it with pellets, and they'll spend the day pecking the tubes to dispense a "reward".

I refilled this morning, then watched my d'Uccle systematically empty each tube, leave the pellets on the ground in a pile, then walk away...

So far this morning...as I do my chicken tasks...let them out, serve breakfast, coop service, run service and return to clean out their outdoor toilet.....I feel joy, and love.....so far....

Wait until they feel that push at the end part....going into labour contraction....push push and scream scream......and the loudest egg song to announce to the world I DID IT!

So far....quiet...never a dull day with chickens!

I filled up the grit cup that I have attached to the run yesterday and of course one of them thought they can take a dust bath in it/dig through it looking for food and emptied the whole bowl of grit all over the place. Not really a big deal since they just peck it off the floor it's the principal of it lol.

Oh my gosh. Mine bath next to their oyster shell/grit cups all the time. Even if I move them. I feel the same as you: "Respect the cup! Stop filling it with mulch!"

Mine are still in a brooder and they do this on the daily.
