No. If the base is brown, that's the finsl color. The blue is the actual color of the shell, so if you have a green layer it might show blue if the pigment gland is acting up, or if releasing more pigment it might come out olive. So blue egg layers can start out brown then change?
Chicken eggshells come in white, and blue.So blue egg layers can start out brown then change?
That’s not annoying! It’s precious!!My flock is extra cute this morning, and that's troubling.
They didn't do anything in particular. They're just too cute.

None unfortunatelyPhotos of the cuteness?
I just noticed this myself! The Buff Orp normally lays beige eggs with a touch of pink, but the last two are more pink. Interesting! What’s up with the eggs getting lighter as the days progress? Is it the bloom?
I don’t get tired of that kind of cuteness. When I took some cabbage pieces out today, a couple of them were leaping straight up into the air trying to snag food out of the bowl before I could even set it down.None unfortunately
Just general chicken stuff. Following me when they want something, scratching around. Chickens running through leaves is somehow hilarious (I think it's the crunching sound I find comical)
Right. They’re darker when I collect them. Then they get lighter as time passes.I just noticed this myself! The Buff Orp normally lays beige eggs with a touch of pink, but the last two are more pink. Interesting!
