Which makes me think a lot of their interpersonal (interchickenal?) issues came from not enough space at roosting time. Gytha has settled down a ton on her bullying, Esme doesn't go after Magrat as often... Aliss was the perfect lead hen but there just wasn't enough space for everyone! It's so quiet around here with Aliss gone. My flock hardly annoys me anymore!![]()
Oops, typo! Thanks. I’m not grieving anymore. 2+ years passed since the last loss.
Yes, foxes and weasels are bad. Minks too.
But monks not so much.![]()
Oh no! How unfortunate! This didn't happen "today", but it still belongs here.
We had a red sex-link in 2023, named Nutmeg. Nutmeg was a bit of a jerk. Whenever you entered the chicken pen, she would run and wait on a lower section of the perch tree, then whack you in the crotch as you walked by. I'm guessing she was going for a zipper or pants tie, but the placement was unfortunate. Didn't affect me much. Now my husband... not amused.
I have a serial pecker who pecked my crotch the other day and I had to use all of my willpower to keep my cool because if I show an ounce of acknowledgement she'll run with it. And keep doing it. And never stop. This didn't happen "today", but it still belongs here.

(And yes, I'm sure she learned from Aliss the Biter).I have a serial pecker who pecked my crotch the other day and I had to use all of my willpower to keep my cool because if I show an ounce of acknowledgement she'll run with it. And keep doing it. And never stop.
Right?? I feel like Nutmeg started out of curiosity, but she kept doing it to him because she got a reaction! I always say, animals love cause and effect.I have a serial pecker who pecked my crotch the other day and I had to use all of my willpower to keep my cool because if I show an ounce of acknowledgement she'll run with it.
