How did your flock annoy you today?

It's so quiet around here with Aliss gone. My flock hardly annoys me anymore! :lau
Which makes me think a lot of their interpersonal (interchickenal?) issues came from not enough space at roosting time. Gytha has settled down a ton on her bullying, Esme doesn't go after Magrat as often... Aliss was the perfect lead hen but there just wasn't enough space for everyone!

This didn't happen "today", but it still belongs here.

We had a red sex-link in 2023, named Nutmeg. Nutmeg was a bit of a jerk. Whenever you entered the chicken pen, she would run and wait on a lower section of the perch tree, then whack you in the crotch as you walked by. I'm guessing she was going for a zipper or pants tie, but the placement was unfortunate. Didn't affect me much. Now my husband... not amused.

Oh no! How unfortunate! 😆

I have a serial pecker who pecked my crotch the other day and I had to use all of my willpower to keep my cool because if I show an ounce of acknowledgement she'll run with it. And keep doing it. And never stop.

Right?? I feel like Nutmeg started out of curiosity, but she kept doing it to him because she got a reaction! I always say, animals love cause and effect.

I pulled the feeders down to wash and clean them today. They hang from rope on metal 'S' hooks. I got the first feeder washed and refilled amd hung back up, no issues. I got back with second one, washed and refilled and ready to go. No hook... but there was a nice, new, big crater wallowed out just underneath the feeder. I'm guessing a dust bath ensued and my hook took a wing or foot assisted flight. Sigh. Inside to get a new one so the princesses and princes have their feed in the right place.
