How do chickens recognize people and other chickens?

Ha hah! Chicken inelegance! I guess that was a typo, but it sure is funny! i suppose what we often think of as out chickens being "inelegant" is actually "intelligent"

Yeah a bit of a typo there. I even read over that a time or two. I guess I should of had my chickens look at it before I sbmitted it. I do need a new keyboard though, it doesn't seem to spell them words correctly sometimes.

Figure this one out. My phoenix rooster hates the color blue. I have a blue sweat shirt, if I forget and wear it in the yard I will have a rooster attacking me for sure. He came to us full grown so I don't know if there is a blue nightmare from his past or not.

I think my chickens know the sound of my voice. Even when they can't see me they come running when they hear me.

I definitely believe it is both sight and sound. All of our chickens can detect predators from afar and as soon as they do, the older roos and hens starts making a lot of commotion as the younger chickens and chicks hides.

We have a naked neck turken hen that gave me that weird chicken eyed look when I came down to her level. I had my glasses on and it was the first time she saw me with my glasses, so she gave me a weird, investigative look like to wonder "What is that on her face?" It was completely adorable!

My chickens will follow my dog around. When she comes outside they will run over to her just like they run over to me. I think they associate her with food time....
