How do I bathe a chicken? she is covered in poop

I dont know what happened but i went to the coop this morning to find one of my chickens covered in poop but its just on one side so I think it was due to all the hens wanting to use the favorite nests (I have 6 but they all cram into the first and last one leaving the four in the middle vacant) well anywah she got pooped on and i was going to bathe her tonight and put her in the ICU to dry over night and place her back when I go in the coop in the morning.

But how do I bathe a chicken?
What kind of soap do I use?
Should I keep her in longer to dry?

I am not going to go near her head or neck in the bath just basically her body because thats whats dirty..

I want to bathe my hen, too! Her feet are really nasty! But, I'm like you Dar I dunno how to??? I would say get a bowl of warm water and bathe her in it! But, I do NOT know for sure, though! Hope somebody replys!

well, take this for what its worth, but we have 1 very greedy hen, who got a very bad case of diarrhea after being particularly piggish, so after a few attempts at scrubbing her caked over bum with a wash cloth a warm water, my husband just held her down and cut the big poopy dried up clod off, and of course some fearhers went with it, but they grew back and she was fine.

Another way to remove dried poop that is difficult to get at is to use a wide-faced, large pair of pliers. The `rock' can be crushed without feather loss.​
