How do I break my broody?

But my chicken is still laying.... So I'm not sure she is completely broody... She just looks like she is headed that direction ... Any tips on how to prevent it from happening?
If I knew the answer to that I'd be a millionaire!

Seriously, though, the instinct of chickens is to brood their own young. Some hens don't turn broody their entire lifetime...others are what I call "determined broodies" ... the kind you can't break no matter what you do. It's really a 50/50 deal...sorry there is no hard and fast answer...wishing you well.

I have the same situation, I'm going with ice packs under my nest boxes to cool her down a bit. So far, it hasn't been working. I'll give her a few more days before making a broody breaker box.

Ooooh...ice packs never thought of that ... Do you just put it under her after you collect the eggs?
