Can someone please tell me how to buy only a few (2-4) chicks in NH? I want them for my kids, but live in a city and can't possibly have 12 chickens in my yard.
Thanks!

I say buy the 12 or so that you can, raise them up, then sell them once they are older, that way you and your children will be able to pick out your favorite hens by then!!!

Another very interesting idea, and one that I hadn't thought of before. That would make it extremely easy to get the chicks I want. Hmm. My wife will kill me...

tell her you only ordered 3 but they sent the others for warmth lol.

No don't lie.. Just tell her buy selling the extras you will make the money back that you spend on feed.

Svejk.......depending on what part of the state you are in the local Tractor Supply companies usually have chicken swaps going on during the weekends.....there will be one at the Littleton Tractor Supply this saturday i believe. They list the chicken swaps in one of the forums here. I have an assortment of bantams i will be bringing to the one in Tilton in June.
