How do i catch a chicken?

I think when they are roosting would be the easyist time to sneak up on them.

I just caught one of my chickens!

I was trying to get her so I could clip her wing.
I only have 2 chickens so they are in a 3x5 coop. I waited until she went inside...shut the chicken door.
I opened the side door (for people) and crawled inside and grabbed her. She didn't have much space to get away from me. She didn't see to mind once I was holding her.

Now all I have to do is wait for the leghorn to go in the coop. But she REALLY doesn't trust me so it might take awhile.

i straightened out a heavy wire coat hanger and made a long slender hook at one end. almost like a shepherds crook, only the gap must be much narrower. it easily slips around their leg when they run away from you and they are caught.
works everytime. day or night.

get a pen or cage, lift it up with a stick under it and a rope tied to the stick, throw feed or something in the pen, when their under PULL (but make sure it has no chance of landing on them)

the latter suggestion made me think of Wile E. Coyote and his ACME bag of tricks...hahahaha

Well it is Saturday still no chickens! I am waiting for the lady to call me back! I like the hook idea too I am going to try that too!

If you have access to something like a chicken tractor, you could try to lure them in. Maybe go over and try some different treats and see what seems to be their favorite and lure them into the tractor. Just another suggestion.

Ok the lady called me at around 9:00pm I went there and found the chickens (after 1 hour of looking) I have no idea what type they are! I will post some pictures tomorrow. Hopefully some ones know what they are! But if I had a camera it was funny. i was running after the chickens I only caught 4 but I am going back tomorrow to try to get the rest. I found out that if you blind them with the light you can reach out and grab them
