How do I get them to stay around?

If your run in 10x10 one roll will be plenty to cover it.
I used deer netting on our run and love it. I didn't even need to use anything else to attach it.
I just unfolded the end and hooked it into the folded over wire on the top of the run. Then I threw it over the other side and hooked it on there. Cut off the extra and do it again.

My standard cochins did the exact same thing. I would come home from work and then have to spend an hour chasing after them five times. I clipped their feathers on both sides three times before they finally stopped trying to fly out. I think that even when their feathers grow back in they'll stay where they are because they know that it's their home. Now they actually come running to me when I open the door or even when they see my car. It's so funny!
