Hello everyone, I got some eggs shipped and of course a lot of them had detached air cells. I did leave them upright for 2 days without turning and the ones that didn't have detached air cells went into a separate incubator with an automatic turner. The ones with detached, saddled, and weird air cells I left in the incubator sitting upright and tilting them about 4 times a day.

My concern is I have a couple of eggs like this and I feel like the embryo will get stuck to the air cell, what do y'all think and what should I do? Should I continue to leave them upright with tilting a few times a day and hope for the best? I have some hope these chicks will make it, but I also have some doubt. Thank you for any suggestions.

hey same boat as you. What you are doing sounds like the best we can do. I wouldn't worry about the embrio getting stuck to the air cell, that cannot happen, what can happen is that the air cell squashes the embrio!
That is what I am especially concious of which is why it is at a slight angle with bg end upwards and I turn it around its own axis so the air bubble stays in the large end of the egg.

Normally eggs are very well protected from shocks and bumbs but when the air cell has become betached its like you have a football in there and a bump can be fatal if that football gets knocked from one side of the egg to the other. The embrio will also not be attached securely to the shell and there might be air pockets that will not absorb shocks like the egg white would.

Lets hope for the best
