How do I keep a rooster without making my neighbors mad?

I visited someone today and heard their roosters. That noise is nothing. I think it sounds kind of sweet. Unless you live right beside your neighbor, I don't think it would be a problem. Even if you did, if you put it in a shed, I am sure that little sound would be muffled.

Compared to the peacocks a rooster is like birds chirping. Just a different tune.

I may keep lobbying my parents but for now I am taking a break. eventually when everyone gets used to the idea of chickens I will go ask my neighbors.

My neighbor has a rooster that crows early in morning & I can't even hear it unless I'm already outside. Even then it's not any louder than any of the other bird around. Unless your neighbors sleep with the windows open I wouldn't think its a problem.

I got a bantam frizzle cochin rooster (that ended up not firzzle'n) this spring... we'll see what the neighbors think when he starts crowing!
