How do I learn to milk a goat?

It's really easy, like most things (brain surgery, rocket science, ballet, etc), when you know how to do it well. Oh, and it takes pretty good hands and forearms. No long fingernails allowed, either.

Sit down beside the goat and lean your head against her belly (not really required, but she's warm and soft and it sounds cool). Pet her a little and talk nice to her. Gently get one of her teats in each hand, with your thumbs and 1st fingers, a little over a handwidth up from the end. Gently pinch the teat shut to trap some milk in it, and close the other fingers, in sequence, down toward the end. The milk has no place to go except out the end (just make sure you are aimed at the bucket, not your shoe or pants leg). Keep doing this til you run out of milk. I find it easier to set up a rythm, and hit the bucket more accurately, to do one hand then the other.

There's a lot more to it, actually, what with getting the goat to stand still while you do this, how to take care of the milk after it's in the bucket, etc. But that's another topic.
