I've also sprouted (or foddered) barley for my chickens and goats. I read that it was the easiest to sprout with least amount of mold type issues. In my location, it takes at least 3 days longer than stated. It's just not warm enough in my house.Great idea!
Did it myself with barley grains recently.
Super easy, and the birds loved them.
I have tried growing fodder, but it would always end up molding no matter how many times I have the water run through.Oats are a tad more challenging.. I read. And I have been unsuccessful at sprouting different types of beans. But it's fun to see the changes and experiment!![]()

Bird gizzards will grind them down like any seed. But here is a cooking guideline I found that might be helpful it says 60 minutes of boiling..
