Hello all! New here. We have had our chickens since early March, got them when they were 5 days old from Belt Hatchery. We added a Belgian d'Uccle Mille Fleur a month later and he hatched out in October. Love love him! He is so cute. Let me just say we are not interested in breeding chickens I'm asking this question because I'm curious to know how he measures up to standards which I'm slowly learning about. Need to mention that we cut his wing when we got him because we were afraid he would fly over our fence, hence the short wing.

Meet Mr. Rooster

He likes to pose for pictures

small size but mighty voice

It's hard [or actually impossible] to judge a bird from a photo. You learn a lot about a chicken when you get it in your hand. For one thin you can't tell size from a picture. About the only thing you can evaluate from a picture is colour & his colour isn't too good. He is obviously well cared for so You've done your job well but I assume he too is a hatchery bird & as a rule they're not well bred birds.
