How do I quote only some of a post?

I can quote another post no problem, but how can I quote only a piece of some one else's post? or can I?

When you quote it and it goes into the reply box you just delete the part you don't want. You can also bold face part of their post that way, it is a full edit.

You can also just copy and paste the part you'd like to quote and surround it with "[ quote ][ /quote]" Put the text you'd like to quote between the two central parentheses. Just remove the spaces before and after the parentheses. This works well for me for long posts that I don't want to delete a bunch of text from.
