How do I "reclaim" my pond from wild geese for my ducks to use?

Hi all!

We have a 3/4 acre pond on our property and it is currently being used by anywhere from 2 to 45 Canadian geese (depending on the time of day). Is there a way I can safely let the geese know that my pond is supposed to be for my ducks? I currently have the ducks in an enclosure, but would like them to be able to play in the pond during the day, free range, and return to their duck house at night. The ducks have never been out of their pen, mainly because of the geese and concernes over diseases, etc.

What can I do? Thanks in advance for your help/advice!

Do you own, or can you borrow a dog? A lab or a border collie will do the trick. Let them chase the geese, they won't be able to catch them. Do it a couple times a day for a week or so and I bet you have a lot less geese. Thats what the golf courses and airports do and apparently they have had great success.

You can buy an airhorn in a can and blow that over the pond when you notice them swarming. But I would be worried about the goose poop left behind and any disease it might carry.
