How do I stop my chicken from eating it's own eggs!!

This worked for me, blow and egg and fill with a mixture of mustard, vinegar, and a VERY SMALL drop of dish soap. Put it in the fav nest box. Get her attention to come into the coop. She will see the egg, peck the egg, and never do it again. They HATE the taste.
This may backfire because most chickens love vinegar - and the soap seems dangerous to me.

the best this to do in this situation is to remove the eggs as soon as you can, and replace them with ceramic eggs. Leave the ceramic eggs in there all the time; they will peck at them and become disinterested once nothing happens.

We had a hen who was injured, and when she started laying again, her eggs were soft or shell-less. It didn’t take long for the whole flock to figure out her eggs were easily eaten. They would camp out in front of her while she was in the nest box. She finally learned that she could get them herself. It made a mess every day, attracting flies and maggots in the nest. I had to clean the nest box daily with bleach water and put in clean bedding. It was a nightmare. She finally died of reproductive problems.

I would try increasing the calcium and adding some extra protein. Make sure she also gets vitamin d and phosphorus in her food, and should be in balance with the calcium. Some hens suffer from oviduct problems where no matter how much calcium they get, the shells are poor. Infectious bronchitis virus and MG in the past also affect eggshells. This might be a reason to cull or rehome a hen for me.
