Ok, I hope he is not depressed from being beaten up by a duck. The turkey was not the top bird in the flock though, that position was shared between a Muscovy drake, who thinks he is a chicken, and a old RIR rooster. The jake turkey started fighting with the bottom cockerels a few days ago and he beat them up easily. He then got into fights with the mature and experienced roosters and still beat them up easily. After he beat all of the bottom roosters he attacked the RIR and beat him up. This was not really surprising, he is just below 25 pounds and those roosters are like 8 pounds. Well anyways, I guess the turkey decided to fight the Muscovy drake (most of the fight happened when I was gone) and the drake beat the crap out of him, I came back and he was running around trying to escape from the drake who was chasing him. So the turkey did not lose his position, he lost a fight to the bird who was, and still is, holding the top position.
My RIR rooster seems pretty depressed, he moved off of the main roost and roosts out in the run now, even though the turkeys don't even sleep in the same building...
