    What breed are they?

    Quacks are usually Ducks (females)

mutters and soft whacks and tail curls are drakes (males)

here is a good drake curl tail picture

Females are usually louder. Males have three curly tail feathers.

ducks will lay anywhere and everywhere. You can provide a low sides box with hay or other bedding in it and see if the girls will lay in it. They like to burry the eggs in the bedding.

So does the quacking/tail curl thing hold true for Muscovy ducks? I have 6, and got them in mid-May as young ducklings (owner had no idea what ages they were, but all different). [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
They are still all different sizes.
