i have 6 ducks their about 7months old and i dont know if i have a male or a female some of them quak louder then others the others just sort of chatter.does that tell gender???
What breed are they? Quacks are usually Ducks (females) mutters and soft whacks and tail curls are drakes (males) here is a good drake curl tail picture
i dont know what the breed is in english but here they call it itik the only translation i can find is skinny philipino duck...
Yeah the itik would be sexed just like said above. Males have curly tail feathers when older and make whispy/raspy sounds, while female is louder and quacks, no curly tail. info found here: http://businessdiary.com.ph/437/how-to-raise-inland-ducks-varieties/
ducks will lay anywhere and everywhere. You can provide a low sides box with hay or other bedding in it and see if the girls will lay in it. They like to burry the eggs in the bedding.
So does the quacking/tail curl thing hold true for Muscovy ducks? I have 6, and got them in mid-May as young ducklings (owner had no idea what ages they were, but all different). They are still all different sizes.
