how do i tell the age of a peacock????

Yep the train feathers are not that of an older bird and his back feathers are not fully colored in yet. Once a peahen or peacock get to be 3 years of age and up it can be harder to tell the age of them.

Very interesting and good to know were all in this together. For us newbies to much info is better then we can sound smart TOO smile Thanks again

See the iridescent black feathers on the wing bottom edge? If it were straight IB those would not be there. Single black shoulder gene shows itself that way. Spalding also sometimes shows this way in low percentage birds but this bird does not look spalding at all.
Hmm... guess I need to go look at mine, 'cause I'm a little clueless.
