How do u all get Chicks to eat the yogurt?

My flock gave every one of their favorite treats the stinkeye when they first encountered it. They'll eventually figure it out. 'Pecking' at the treat with your fingers seems to trigger them, as well as dipping their beaks in the treat.

Before you know it, you'll have a flock parading around after you when you go outside, just in case you magically produce treats.

All good to know.

I just started my 6 new babies on yogurt. I took raw oatmeal and crushed it up and dropped it from one hand to the other hand. They ran up out of curiosity and pecked it. WOW it is food they gobbled it up and then I did the same thing on top of the yogurt. Just sift it btwn your fingers as you let it fall. Curiosity gets the best of them. They have to peck at it. Then sift it on top of the yogurt and see if they will try it. Mine are only 3+weeks old.

"Pasty butt" generally indicates that your brooder temperature is too low. You might want to check that as well as trying to get them to eat yogurt.
