Eat REAL food. I would also skip grains and starches for a while. Even whole grains can make you feel bloated and sluggish. After you have been off of them for a while, add them slowly back in and see how you feel. Many people have health problems related to wheat and soy and don't even know it.
I did not even realize how poorly wheat made me feel until I stopped eating it. The real "detox" is when you stop eating sugar in any way shape or form. I'm thinking it was easier to stop smoking (15 years now). I was in pain from that "detox".

Also remember that natural fats are your friends. Saturated fat does not cause heart disease regardless of what you may have been told. Cholesterol doesn't make your heart "asplode". Your BRAIN is mostly fat and cholesterol. Fatty acids are necessary for good health. Margarine, hydrogenated fats, canola oil, corn oil, etc.. are all highly processed garbage. Stick to REAL butter, non-hydrogenated lard, coconut oil, olive oil and other cold-pressed nut oils like sweet almond oil.
I like all the above oils with the exception of olive oil. I just can't stand that stuff... I know I know it's sooo good for you. yuck. We don't use margarine, butter only. I can pronounce all the ingredients!
