How do we attract crows?

Does anyone know how to attract crows? Sounds silly, I know, but we have found that crows chase hawks. We had a pair of crows around for the last few years and they seemed to have disappeared- -hunted, perhaps. Now the hawks are cruising for our chickens and we have lost some of the smaller ones. Need more crows!

I wish I knew how also!!! They pass thrugh our farm daily, but they don't stay here. Wish they would.

Don't They like corn? Maybe find a fake corn-stalk or make one and scatter corn on the ground around it.

What I've done is go to a clearing the chicken don't range into and throw out wild bird seed. That brings the crows and other different birds. Then when I put out scratch I throw it out in a clearing by the coop with lotsa leaves. The chicken seem to get a little bored and go off doing chicken things and the crows come it and check it out. Yes, I've had two hawks come over the coop, but with about 10 crows hot in it's tail.

Crows here just don't seem to go away. Some are always around.

Crows can be great but if you have tomatoes look out. They love them too. Also corn on the stalk , that is whats left from the racoons here.

if you have shinny objects around your yard sometimes the crows will be attracted to those. throwing down cracked corn is also something they will be attracted to. throw it down someplace that is open, they won't be attracted to anything like a bird feeder but probably will come close to one if the seed and corn is strewn about close to one.

I get tons of crow pictures eating the corn from my game feeder...it is set to go off in the am and the evening....throws out about 2 lbs of corn at a time and the crows fight the deer for it . On ebay you can get the five gallon deer feeders fairly cheap...just hang it, fill it and set it to throw corn in the am and the crows will follow....don't let it go off at night of you will get plenty of coons...

Interesting, I had wondered if the crows here had chased off a hawk or Perrigrine one day. We put some chicken litter out in one of our garden beds and they just loved it. I don't know what was in it but the crows were in it daily. Maybe they could smell the chicken feed?

I hardly ever have to harrow my horse pastures thanks to the crows breaking up their manure. Love my crows! They've saved my chickens from hawks on more than one occasion.
