How do you break a broody hen?

I put my broody hen in a separate pen where she could still see her flock mates. It was a shady area so a little cooler than the area she is used to. That evening I put her in the secure area where the roosting coop is. It is closed off from the run (where the nest boxes are) at night. The first night she paced and fussed to get back to the nest, but finally went to roost per normal. Put her in the pen again the next morning, put her back in the roosting area again the next night, where she went immediately to roost with the others. Did the same the next day, and about midday I put them all out in a side area away from their coop/run. When I turned them back into the run, I let the broody go with them to see what she would do. She is back to normal now, it did take her a few days to start laying again. I don't know if it is coincidence or not, but I had some crushed red pepper flakes from Round Table Pizza, so I put about 6 packets on their fermented feed, and she resumed laying the next day. I had read here that the pepper helps them to return to laying. Don't know how true it is, but then again she did start laying again.
