How do you clean and store your eggs?

I haven't had to clean poo out of the nesting box in a week.

For the eggs I am selling if the egg is clean I place right into the egg carton and the eggs that are a little dirty I wash in warm water and let dry and place into the egg carton . On the egg carton I print " Wash B4 Using" . and add the date on the end of carton in pencil ...Eggs that are really poopy because of the girls that insist on using the poop boards to lay their prize winnin' egg ....I wash and then scramble up to give back to all the hens ...

How do you give it back to them?

you can scramble them up, even add the crushed shell, just make sure its unrecognizable as egg shell...its a good way to get the calcium back to the chicken.

We've only had the one egg which we ate right away (of course), but our chicken guru locally said he keeps his unwashed and on the counter for a week or more. I hadn't planned on refrigerating mine unless I wasn't eating them same week. Am I wrong?

Yes thats what I do ...They consider it a treat ...I call them and they come running and I just toss it on the ground or during the winter if there inside I place it in a dish ...
