How do you clean your run?

I never clean my run. The birds are out in their fenced in yard most of the time.

I rake ours out a few times a week and add some hay and sand to it.

To properly clean a run, it should be tilled and limed. This kills all bacteria and adjusts the ph in the soil.

Remember, liming and mucking and littering and all the other tricks we are discussing are ways to deal with overcrowding. Avoid THAT, and the rest takes care of itself.
