I have been trying to encourage my hens to go broody, I've seen people put golf balls in the nesting box and I myself have done the same thing its been over a month so how might I encourage it.

In reality you can’t ”encourage” a hen to go broody. If you want a hen that is likely to go broody often, get a breed that is known for doing so. Of course even with silkies or Cochins you aren’t guaranteed a broody as every bird is different.
