Hi,
I have a pullet who dose not like being handled. Every time I try to pick her up, she either jumps over my hands or runs away. When I hold her I have to hold her really tightly so she won't fly away. When I mange to pick her up she struggles. She has never like being handled, but is still friendly. I used to hold her a lot when she was a chick, because I thought she would get used to it. This hasn't worked. Would love to know if there is any way to introduce a chicken to being handled. Thanks! :)

just like people some just are not the snuggle type just be happy she will let you love on her at all i have a hen that doesn't even want to be touched and has been that way since she was a chick just love on her the ways she will let you

What breed? How old?

some breeds are naturally more flighty. We’ve had a couple pullets who seemed to have an overactive flight response, even though sisters of same breed were more calm.

pullets often begin to calm down when laying starts.
